June Earnings

Mechanical Turk - $17.65

Total for June - $17.65

Amazon Payments screenshot:

Moving and health issues derailed my online work during April and May, but I've recently gotten back into Mechanical Turk. I've done some work on Opinion Outpost, but more and more of their rewards are drawing entries instead of points. I'm trying out a couple new websites: Earnably, and Clickworker.

Demographic-Targeted Research Surveys

I've been busy working and moving, so I haven't had many earnings to report. In the mean time, I've been checking out demographic-related Mechanical Turk surveys. You can often have good luck finding research surveys relevant to your experiences by searching HITs for your gender, race/ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, and so on. Also, if you have niche interests (gaming, working out, fandom), you can sometimes find targeted research for those groups as well.

Here are a couple LGBT-related research surveys I found today:

1) Transgender/Genderqueer Survey (Adfly link) -- $0.50 for about 15 minutes of work. Give your thoughts on a brief therapy session. Make sure to read the debriefing after you complete the survey!

2) LGBT Life Experience Survey (Adfly link) -- $1.00 for about 10 minutes of work. Answer some questions about discrimination experiences.

You need to be 18+ and at least one of the surveys requires you to be from the U.S.

March Earnings

JDPowerPanel (now closed) - $50
Brand Institute - $5
Mechanical Turk - $3.72

Total for March - $58.72

I also received half-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner to test (see pic below). At the end of the product test survey, it was revealed to me that they were Garnier Ultra Doux Honey Treasures brand/type. They worked pretty well, and I'm glad I got to give my opinion on them.

February Earnings

Opinion Outpost - $22

Total for February - $22

Everything came through Paypal, as you see here:

I'm disappointed to say that I had a bad experience with, JDPowerPanel. I completed an entire survey (including watching 15 minutes of content and the full repeat of the demographic portion at the end), yet the survey wasn't credited to me. This has happened to me on less reliable sites, but I wasn't expecting it from this one, since I've had such good experiences with them. I emailed them about the problem (including screenshots of the completion and non-crediting), but got a form letter instead of an actual response. I'm very near the $50 threshold, but if it weren't for that, I'd just cash out what I had in Amazon credit and be done with them early. If you haven't joined them, don't bother.

January Earnings

Opinion Outpost - $17

Total for January - $17

One of my favorite sites, JDPowerPanel, will be closing down in mid-March. I will be focusing heavily on that site to see if I can make $50, which is the threshold for their PayPal cashout. It's a shame to see good, reliable survey sites closing down.

It's been a busy and tumultuous year, but I managed to keep doing surveys here and there. I branched out and tried a code-based program called Delicious Rewards by Lean Cuisine. The earnings were slow but it definitely made me a more loyal customer while the program was in effect. It has now been discontinued, but I'm keeping an eye out for similar programs to try. If you notice any, let me know! I attempted My Perks by Purina, but theft of the codes (which are displayed on the outside of packaging) soured me to the program early, so I haven't done much with it. I tried a National Consumer Panel scanner, but found the process to be more trouble than it was worth.

I had a few good home product tests this year, including full-sized bottles of blind label shampoo (2 bottles) and conditioner (1 bottle), and a package of Hamburger Helper.
